Today I accomplished one of my biggest goals I set for the year. I want to share my joy with you! I’m now a member of Click Pro Photographers! Click Pro is an association of female photographers from around the world. I’m so proud to be a part of this prestigious group of powerful women photographers!

After an intense portfolio review from a panel of three judges, applicants must meet the very high standards required for acceptance. Applicants are judged on the following categories:

1. EXPOSURE TRIANGLE
2. USE OF LIGHT
3. COLOR + WHITE BALANCE
4. COMPOSITION
5. PROCESSING + COHESION
6. TECHNICAL BASICS
7. CREATIVITY + INTENTION

On creating a portfolio

Preparing a portfolio of 150 images is a difficult process. It requires looking at your work critically and judging if every single element is represented in each image, while joining together to create a cohesive body of work. At every session, I strive to document the simple, joyful, and beautiful everyday moments. For my portfolio, I focused on the circle of life. I’ve photographed individuals from 1 day old to 90+ years old, and wanted my portfolio to demonstrate that depth by documenting young couples as they have children that grow up and eventually become grandparents!

On heartwarming feedback

An unexpected highlight of the process of becoming a Click Pro Elite photographer is receiving insightful feedback on my work by leaders in the photography industry. “Laura presents a beautiful portfolio full of meaningful content and lovely connections. Laura has a strong visual voice. Use of light and interesting perspectives are two of this artist’s strengths. Color, line and shape are used as design elements in Laura’s frames. Her work is lovely and a pleasure to view.”

If you would like updated portraits, please contact me so that we can start planning your session. 🙂
