The Senior Portrait Awards
To be honest, I have been extremely busy lately with senior portraits this past year… and I’ve loved every second of it! This is the first year that I have really focused in on senior sessions, and I have enjoyed it so much I thought I would take the time to appreciate all the seniors I have photographed recently. So, I’ve selected some of my favorite, and gave them some accolades and recognition.
1. Senior Award: Best Sunset Shoot
This girl was such a blast to shoot and I was excited when she suggested Mount Washington as her location. It was so great getting to know her better and laughing together during her golden hour photo session.
2. Senior Award: Most Outfit Changes
This girl brought five outfits to her session, and all were super cute! Her session was at Mellon Park, and with all the flowers blooming, the pictures all turned out beautifully. This session really opened my eyes to the possibility of bringing multiple outfits to have a really diverse session portfolio.
3. Senior Award: Best Location
This guy chose two aspects of his life to highlight, drumming and living on a farm, and then incorporated both into his senior session. His family lives on a farm with horses and alpacas. While he played the drums under a tree, soon his favorite alpaca came to listen! The pictures turned out great, and I loved how original it was.
4. Senior Award: Best Ballerina
This dancer brought all of her best moves to Pittsburgh’s South Side. She was definitely the most agile senior I’ve ever photographed. It was really interesting to watch her come up with her own moves and it was also a blast to search for pretty murals and backdrops.
5. Senior Award: Best Hair
This girl has such gorgeous blond locks, it was easy to capture her beauty. This session was nice and simple, and I love how the portraits turned out.
6. Senior Award: Look-a-like Country Music Singer
Isn’t this girl is a dead-ringer for Carry Underwood? Her gorgeous yellow dress and blonde hair made the portraits look stunning. I loved how her dress really makes her stand out in the pictures in the woods.
7. Senior Award: Best Fashionista
This gal brought her knee high boots and looked amazing. I guess it is no surprise that she is heading to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York in the Fall! Her session was at Heartwood Acres, and it was interesting exploring all the nooks and crannies of the mansion grounds together.
8. Senior Award: The Peppiest Cheerleader
This senior brought her uniform along for some portraits. In addition to her cheerleader uniform portraits we also enjoyed exploring the yellow bridges in Pittsburgh and Lake Elizabeth.
9. Senior Award: Best Boho Look
This senior is an excellent artist and brought her creativity to the wild field. This natural shoot was simple yet beautiful. With her hair down, the grasses growing wild, and the sun peaking around the clouds, this photoshoot was magical.
10. Senior Award: Ultimate Transformation
This girl was originally quite opposed to having her senior portraits done. Her mom however insisted upon it! But, by the end of the session I had her comfortable in her own skin, throwing out ideas for poses, and looking like an experienced model!
11. Senior Award: Most Easy-Going
This senior went with the flow and was very flexible. He was willing to try a multitude of poses before finding ones that we thought were the best for him.
I hope that while reading this you enjoyed all the awards and that it inspired you to to book your own senior portrait session and see what award you will win!!
