Newborn Lifestyle Session
Documenting the special early days of families welcoming newborns home fills my heart with joy. The entire process of lifestyle sessions is rewarding – meeting new and returning families, learning their stories, and photographing them. I love incorporating the small, beautiful details to make their images all the more unique and meaningful.
Taking it all in
Baby boy did so well the entire session. We loved that he wanted to be wide awake and part of the action for most of the session. This gave us plenty of opportunities to capture “eyes open” photos to really show off his beautiful and curious eyes!
Thoughts on Living in Pittsburgh
We adore the food scene in Pittsburgh. Before having our children, we’d spend every Sunday wandering the Strip District exploring the cuisine. Our most recent memorable meal was at Christmastime dining at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto with the skyline as our backdrop. The crab cake was the best I’ve ever had. Locally, we frequent Bartram Bakery and Markook.
Beyond food, our favorite weekend activity is hitting the Montour Trail with the kiddos. They just added a new icecream spot, to my daughter’s delight! We adore living in Western PA and enjoying the farm scape of Canonsburg with the Pittsburgh hustle and bustle a close drive away.
Thoughts on houseplants
I purchased one in law school during a summer clerkship to add some life to my cubicle, I gifted another to Morgan during his intern year when we were living apart, Morgan gave me another plant the first Easter in our Canonsburg home, and the large one traveled with us from our Atlanta apartment. All that to say, my plants range in age from 9 years old to 5 years old and some have traveled from Alabama to Georgia to PA! They are as meaningful to me as my wall art.
Creamy Blueberry and Avocado Pops
MAKES: 10 POPS
2 avocados, pitted
1½ cups frozen blueberries
10 soft dates, pitted
1 cup milk of choice
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
½ cup nut butter of choice (optional)
In a blender, puree avocados, blueberries, dates, milk, and lime juice until smooth.
Divide mixture among 10 ice pop molds, and top each with 1 Tbsp nut butter (if using).
Insert the sticks, pushing nut butter into the middle of the mold; freeze until solid, about 8 hours.
