Four Pittsburgh Family Activities

Are you looking for something fun to do with the family in Pittsburgh? There is always something fun going on in the area regardless of what time of year it might be. Here are four fantastic family friendly activities throughout the spring and summer to consider attending. April 15

Teen Murder Mystery Night

at C.C. Mellow Memorial Library

1 Pennwood Avenue

6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

This event is perfect for the teenagers in your life! Not only is it a free event, but it’s a fun one for teens and their friends. They will work together with the group to get clues, question each other, and eventually solve the murder mystery! This is an event that is best suited for ages 13-18.

April 27

Pies 101 Parent and Child Class

at Robinson Market Distrct

100 Settlers Ridge Center Dr

11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Some of the greatest childhood memories are created in the kitchen. This class will teach children how to make pie crusts, followed by making apple, berry, and cream pies with your child. One ticket is required for the parent attending, and another is required for the student. Children 9 years and older are encouraged to attend, and tickets cost $75.

May 12

Mad Science Open House

at Mad Science Lab

100 Hafner Avenue

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Why not give your child the opportunity to dive into science in an engaging way? Bring your little one to the Mad Science lab for some interactive demonstrations and fun activities! They will be raffling off lab coats and goody bags, and every child will have the chance to make and take home some slime. This is best suited for children ages 5-12, and best of all, it is a completely free event for all to attend.

June 29

Art on the Boulevard

at Brookline Boulevard

Pittsburgh, PA 15226

5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Bring the family out to enjoy art from talented local artists along the boulevard. There will be artist stations, live entertainment in the form of music, and raffles at participating businesses along the way, and the opportunity to sample different food and beverage options. It’s sure to be a wholesome Saturday activity for the family. Tickets are $15.
