Four Family Friendly Events in Pittsburgh

Summer in Pittsburgh is here, and it’s passing by pretty quickly! Don’t let the summer skate by without making some memories with your family. Here are four upcoming events in the Pittsburgh area that are perfect for families to check out. If you’re looking for a way to make an event extra special without worrying about traffic or parking, click here for a transportation solution that is sure to make all of the difference.

July 15 | Children’s Tea Party

at Chartiers Township Community Center

The tea party atmosphere makes for a fun afternoon! There will be free face painting at the event as well as princess characters in attendance. Every ticket comes with a tea cup and saucer set, as well as tea, water, and juice for the children. Desserts will be available for purchase as well. It’s worthy to note that this event is free for children under one year old. 

July 20 | Picklesburgh

at Roberto Clemente Bridge

This event dedicated to all things pickle has expanded to three fun filled days. There will be lots of fun merchandise on sale from local vendors, and the interactive demonstrations are fun for all ages to watch and learn.  There is sure to be a lot of interesting food options available here! You will know you’re in the right place when you see the giant flying pickle! 

July 28 | Royal Ice Cream Social

at Sincerely Yogurt

If your kids are Disney fans, this event will be a perfect addition for your summer. Tickets are $35 and include the chance to meet two different characters, a make and take craft, story time, and the chance to decorate some frozen yogurt. They are limited to about 40 tickets for the event, so be sure to get yours soon.

August 11 | Kids Fest

at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway

Even those who aren’t big fans of racing will have a fun time at this family event. Admission includes a meet and greet with familiar characters, a petting zoo and mermaid experience, and more fun! There are over fifty vendors for food alone as well as bounce houses and face painting. Tickets are $20, and the auto race starts at 7PM!
