2021 Senior Pictures – Frequently Asked Questions

Inquiries for senior pictures in Pittsburgh have already started coming in this year. With the inquiries also comes several questions! I hope to answer the most commonly asked questions below. Please know, after you officially book your high school senior photo session you’ll receive a guide to help you prepare for you senior pictures. If you have any additional questions, feel free to add them in the comments.

What happens if it rains the day of my session?

A few days before your session we can discuss the weather if the weather forecast doesn’t look promising. We will formulate a plan on when to decide to reschedule as well as choosing a rain date if necessary.

When should I book my senior photo session?

It’s best to book 2-3 months in advance. If you would like your pictures taken between August to October, I recommend contacting me as early as possible. The fall is the busiest time of year for most photographers!

Can I bring along my pet for some photos?

Absolutely! Pets are like family and I am happy to include them in your photoshoot. Some seniors have a friend or family member come in another car to help care your pet and to take your pet home once we have a few great shots.

Will images from my session be posted online?

Yes, unless specifically requested otherwise, I love to share beautiful images online on instagram, facebook, and my website. Feel free to follow me so that I can tag you!

How should I pose?

I’ll guide you through posing. You don’t need to know a thing. I’ll guide you through poses to feature your most flattering angles. You will be coached every step of the way, and can relax knowing that I have your back.

What time of day do you schedule sessions?

It is best to schedule your session during golden hour, around 2-3 hours before sunset for the most interesting and flattering lighting. I shoot seniors from Mondays – Saturdays.

Do you offer professional retouching?

Every senior portrait is professionally retouched unless requested otherwise. I keep retouching to a minimum because I want you to look like yourself! The general rule of thumb is if it won’t be there in two weeks, it’ll be removed. 🙂

When will I receive my viewing gallery?

You will receive your portrait gallery around a week after your session. Once you choose your favorites, it takes around one more week for me to professional retouch your favorites portraits. By the way, I often post a few “sneak peeks” within just a few days.

Will you submit my yearbook portrait(s) to the yearbook?

Yes! Let me know in advance if you want me to send out your portrait for you, and also let me know the deadline.

Will my photos be watermarked when I receive them?

No. Your photos will be watermarked on my website. However, when you download the photos that your ordered they will not be watermarked!

Do I have to print my photos through you?

Nope! When you receive your final gallery, you will be able to print your photos wherever and whenever you would like! I order my professional prints from Millers Lab and I recommend Mpix.com. Mpix is Miller’s consumer lab.

Can we order more digital images/products/prints later?

Yes, let me know if you’d like to purchase additional images/products. You can order additional prints through your online gallery.
