Why Choose Laura Mares Photography to Capture Your Senior Photos
1. A Personalized Experience
My daughter was recently speaking with a friend, a senior at Mt. Lebanon High School, who had his senior pictures taken last fall. He described the experience as “quite robotic” as his session was exactly 30 minutes long, with a line of seniors scheduled before and after him, filtering through the senior portrait studio. He mentioned he felt a little disappointed. After 12 years of schooling that lead to a much anticipated senior year, I can understand the discontentment upon receiving cookie-cutter images. That’s why I recognize that senior photos, alongside senior rec, prom, etc, are a major milestone in a young adult’s life. That is why I aim to create unique images for every senior I photograph. I grow genuine relationships because I remember the excitement of this moment in a high school senior’s life. It truly is the bridge from adolescences to adulthood, and I love to capture it!
2. Variety in Photo Gallery
Another disappointment this senior expressed was having little variety in his gallery. When looking through my portfolio and experiencing a photo shoot with me this year, he was impressed by the diversity of my photos and the creativity in which I captured them. This is one aspect of my photography business that is unrepeatable and I am proud to be able to offer it. I strive to provide you with timeless images that portray all the facets of your personality… whether you are introspective, fun-loving, creative, athletic or adventurous!
3. Time to Create Memorable Images
My senior sessions last between 1 to 2 hours, meaning I devote time to getting to know you and allow you to become comfortable in whatever location you chose to document your senior photos. I strive to utilize the time allotted in the session to create beautiful senior photos that reflect your personality and interests.
4. Ability to Combine Studio and Outdoor Locations
Oftentimes, traditional senior year portraits are taken in a small studio with a few bright lights. My goal is to expand that limited view into a plethora of locations that are specific to YOUR personality and YOUR high school experience. Some of examples of this would be a high school senior who requested to have her photos taken at a local coffee shop, Uptown Coffee in Mt. Lebanon. This unique and creative idea was the best way to capture her unique experience as a Mt. Lebanon High School Student. Additionally, locations such as Mount Washington at sunset, North Shore, Mellon Park and Kennywood are eye-catching locations and unique to Pittsburgh. I love when high school seniors, especially those who are planning to attend a far-away college, have their photo session in iconic Pittsburgh locations. Hopefully you’ll look back on your senior pictures and remember the places that had an impact on their life.
5. Personalized Experience
All in all, I hope to see you (or you high school senior son or daughter) soon. We’ll plan your session, the photo locations, poses, outfits etc. and I look forward to the opportunity to capture this special end of high school experience for you through a collection of high quality portraits. I cater to the individual needs and wants of each of my clients and that is something that is unique in a world where instantaneous results are valued over experience and quality.
Thanks, and hope to see you soon! Warmly, Laura
