I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Recently, I was awarded four honorable mentions in Click Pro’s international photography contest “Best Portrait Photographer” and “Best Black and White Photographer” categories. This recognition from such a talented community is incredibly motivating, and I wanted to share the inspiration behind each of these winning images.
Best Portrait Photographer
Two of the honorable mentions were for my newborn lifestyle photography. Capturing those precious first few weeks of life is a privilege, and I strive to create images that evoke the wonder and tenderness of this special time. Whether it’s a soft focus on tiny fingers wrapped around a parent’s thumb, or a candid moment of pure joy between parent and child, I love using natural light and gentle compositions to tell these intimate stories.
Another winning image was a high school senior laughing heartily near the mansion at Hartwood Acres. This image embodies the joy and resilience of life. Her laughter, frozen in time, reminds us of the anticipation and hope that comes at the cusp of adulthood.
Best Black and White Photographer
The final honorable mention featured a black and white portrait of a majestic highland cow. These awe-inspiring creatures possess a timeless beauty, and I was drawn to capture their strength and stoicism in a black and white conversion. The play of light and shadow on their shaggy coats adds a touch of drama, while the stark contrast emphasizes their powerful presence.
Being recognized by the Click Community is a true honor, and it fuels my passion for capturing the stories and emotions that make us human. Whether it’s the delicate details of a newborn, the rugged beauty of an animal, or the vibrant energy of a high school senior embarking on the next chapter, I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to preserve these precious moments through the lens.
