The fenced garden at Hartwood Acres is full of colorful blooms every summer making it a favorite location for high school seniors. I had the pleasure of capturing Paige’s senior pictures in the gorgeous garden and around the mansion. It was a fantastic evening because Paige is a natural in front of the camera, her and her mother are interesting to talk to and the weather was perfect for exploring the park! Any session that features a friendly high school senior, golden hour hues and rich colored flowers is a pleasure to photograph and this senior session was a dream! Congratulations on your senior year, Paige and thanks again for choosing me to document it!
In your opinion, where is the best place to eat in Pittsburgh and what do you order there?
Mediterra Cafe in Sewickley, PA is delicious! I always order the avocado toast with a poached egg. They have fresh, daily bread, desserts, coffees, and a cheese case.
What is the best thing about your high school?
We have fantastic teachers and staff! They’re very passionate about their work and preparing us for the future.
How would your friends describe you?
Goofy, sassy, insightful, smart, and empathetic.
If you took a road trip, where would you go?
I’d go west since I’ve never traveled out there- Colorado, Oregon, California, and Arizona.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
I like a little bit of everything!
What is your favorite outdoor activity?
Does relaxing count? I like hanging in hammocks.
What are your plans for after high school?
I want to get my bachelors in psychology along with a minor and then get my graduate degree. What I decide to do with those degrees hasn’t been decided yet.
How did you decide what to wear to your portrait session?
I knew I wanted a variety of outfits (not just dresses) so I made sure one outfit was a dress and another incorporated jeans. The third one was a simple, black romper.
How did you chose Laura Mares Photography?
Honestly, my mom and I looked up senior photographers in Pittsburgh and eventually stumbled across Laura’s page. Her style was classy and clean. I also saw lots of golden hour portfolio pictures I fell in love with.
