Portraits + Interview
Summer Family Session at Sunset
A rural field with a gorgeous sunset is the perfect location for a family session! Especially for families with young children who enjoy exploring!
An Introduction
“Do you remember all of your past clients?” When I head the question, I got a little nervous. Although I’m pretty confident that I do, I can be slow to recall names. I was relieved when I heard names of families that I could instantly recall! It was pretty awesome to meet a friend of some wonderful past clients!
Not long after sending a link to the gallery, I received an email letting me know that both mother and son are excited to hang their new portraits up in their home! This is every photographer’s biggest compliment! This little guy won my heart!

Thoughts on family
We met in college in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our family is silly, playful, and adventurous. Our son is happy, rambunctious, and never wants to stop moving! In our free time we enjoy exploring new playgrounds, visiting museums, and trying out new local restaurants.
Thoughts on living in Pittsburgh
We love the beautiful scenery – the hilly mountains, rivers, and living at the top of a hill with a view! Our family’s favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh is the El Campensino in Ross Township – or anything Mexican.
Thoughts on food
Our favorite meal is chicken, tofu, and veggie stir fry. We put Chinese seasonings on it and eat it on rice! Our son loves eating anything that has to do with rice!
Thoughts on our family portraits
We haven’t done a family photo session before and wanted some nice pictures to hang up around our house. We love Laura’s natural looking style and wanted to capture some family memories while having a relaxed photoshoot.
We ate a big dinner and drove all the way across town to enjoy a late afternoon out on the beautiful fields! Our toddler had a blast. We got to see a gorgeous sunset.
We love the Daddy and son and Mommy and son pictures – those always feel special for each parent!
Our son, Nico, loves the pictures and described them as “colorful” and has “a beautiful sunset.” And would like to invite Laura to take pictures of us at our neighborhood playground next time, because “it’s closer.” =)
