Today I’m excited to share an interview with a loving wife, caring mother and fun grandmother to three young grandchildren. We enjoyed several conversations prior to the photo shoot covering all the details for her family shoot. It was a real pleasure meeting her and her family the day of the shoot!
We were IT managers for Cigna Insurance – Kevin in Dallas and me in Pittsburgh. We were both obsessed with a new show called “Survivor” and would chat about it the day after it showed. At some point, we realized we were both single and really liked each other. We had met each other at business functions but had only been friends. Kevin took a personal trip to Pittsburgh, we started a long distance relationship until about 10 months later he moved to Pittsburgh, and we’ve now been together and married for 15 years!
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Kevin was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I moved to Pittsburgh 20 years ago this past August and Kevin moved here 15 years ago.
Supportive, Crazy, Inclusive
We do outside activities – Zoo, parks, walks, biking, Food lovers, sports lovers
Harry Potter is a family favorite in both movies and books.
My oldest daughter is very allergic to anything with gluten, so we specifically look for restaurants that have a good Gluten Free menu. There are more than you think if you do research ahead of time!
When my son proposed to his wife he invited all of us to witness it! It was outside of a restaurant in Robinson. We told the restaurant and then we all had to hide behind a dumpster while he proposed on the lawn outside. It was dark and we were giggling and bumping into each other. We all ran out after she said YES! When we went back into the restaurant they all cheered and they made our pizza into a heart!
Eating, playing games, laughing and joking with each other, we have a fantasy football league, so we like to harass each other on who will win each year.
We’ve gone to the Outer Banks a few times, but because we have such a big family and we all have dogs and cats, we haven’t taken a long vacation all together for a while. But we do see each other as much as possible.
Like any family, we certainly have seasons of ups and downs – but we’re all very protective of each other and we respect each others space. No one tells anyone else what to do. We just love each other the way we are.
My children are all in their 30’s. My oldest is 34 and my twins are 32. They waited to get married and have families and within the past 2 years I’ve been gifted with 3 absolutely beautiful grandbabies. Before babies I would take our family photos using a tripod, but with babies, we weren’t going to get them to sit still and look at a tripod, so we needed a great photographer to capture our crazy, bouncy family ~ and this was the first time we got all 3 grandbabies in the picture together!
We wanted to get our pictures outside in the bright leaves so we all wanted to coordinate without absolute matching. So we picked jeans and white/beige/off-white tops. When it was raining our photographer found us a great indoor space where our colors still worked. We are pleased with the results!
The photo of all of us. Every time I look at it I will remember us all being together. I’ll remember the little ones running and yelling, and everyone trying to get the babies to look at us – and I’ll smile.
